Well, we are now home from our trip to Savannah and I must say it is nice to be here. That being said we did have a nice, relaxing time. I think Hapaw really enjoyed it as well; which was the entire point.
We stared the day at the Continental Breakfast - which was pretty good for free :) I still stand by my earlier blog on the hotel; it was really a nice hotel and the bed rocked. OMG I want that mattress in my home! But I digress; after breakfast we ran by KMart so I could buy a sweater; with the wind it was pretty chilly. Instead I bought me a nice coat that I'll wear a bunch :) Then we went to the visitors center in Savannah.
We walked from the Visitors Center down to Colonial Cemetery which is several blocks away. We stopped at St. Michael's (or Johns) Cathedral on the way. It was so pretty on the inside; I really hope my pictures turned out well. We then continued our leisurely walk down to the cemetery. Once we go there we realized it wasn't the one Hapaw had wanted to see so we walked around a bit more and then headed out for food.
We walked several blocks to Mellow Mushroom and had lunch. The walk was leisurely and I of course took tons of pictures. After lunch we headed back to the visitors center and took a drive out to Bonaventure Cemetery. Hapaw wanted to see it and I have to admit it was beautiful and eerie. With the old oak trees with the moss hanging out of them + the old tombstones.... It is certainly something worth seeing. We took some more pictures and then headed back to Atlanta.
It wasn't a long trip and we certainly didn't even begin to see Savannah, but it was what she wanted and we enjoyed it. In the end that is all that counts, right?
Till next time - Have a blessed evening blogland!

FYI, you can usually buy the matresses at hotels! We LOVE LOVE LOVE the matresses at Courtyard Marriott... there is a number you can call and they will check which type of matress was in the room you stayed in and you can have one delivered :) They are a little cheaper than other "luxury" matresses b/c the companies don't need to pay for advertising. We're getting ours as soon as we finish getting settled ;)
